Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled clinical mental health therapist to join our private practice in Traverse City, MI, as a self-employed practitioner. This role offers the flexibility to build and manage your own client caseload while benefiting from the support and resources of an established practice. You will provide both in-person and telehealth therapy sessions, offering individual, group, and family therapy to help clients manage and overcome mental and emotional challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate as a self-employed therapist within the private practice, managing your own client caseload.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy in person and via telehealth.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose mental health conditions and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored to the needs of each client.
- Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with other mental health professionals within the practice for coordinated care.
- Engage in regular supervision and ongoing professional development.
- Offer crisis intervention services as needed.
- Uphold confidentiality and ethical practices according to professional standards and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
- Limited licensure in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
- One year of clinical experience, preferably in a private practice setting. Clinical internship experience considered.
- Strong knowledge of mental health diagnoses, therapeutic interventions, and evidence-based practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in clinical practice.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Full State of Michigan licensure in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
- Experience working with specific populations (e.g., children, adolescents, trauma, veterans, etc.).
- Training or certification in specialized therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc.).
- Experience with telehealth technology.
